Unspeakable Part 14
Letting this speak for itself.
What I’m Reading/Watching
Gundam Origin Vol 1
Still working my way through this one, I’m enjoying it though.
The Man Without Talent
A great entry in the genre of “profiles of a loser” or something like that. It’s real and raw and the cartooning gives you plenty.
Ronin Book 2 Issue 2
I’ve got to actually read it still - but just based on flipping through it combined with the first issue there’s absolutely zero sense of space - everything appears to be occurring in a complete vacuum, there’s no discernible background at all. It’s just disorienting and weird and I don’t think it’s a particularly successful choice. Ronin had enough of a sense of setting that you at least knew where each piece was happening - this just feels like a very long fight spread over two issues with no sense of where the hell it is. I think if Miller were doing the whole book I’d be more forgiving but Tan’s very polished finished art makes the lack of any kind of spacial detail stand out way more.
